What we are
Forma Studio 360 is a software company, incorporated and operating in New Zealand. It exists to build and support one product line: production and rehearsal planning tools for choreographers, directors and the teams around them.
The company is founder-led and deliberately small. Development happens in Auckland, close to the studios and production teams the product is built for, and the product is being shaped through direct work with practitioners rather than through market research at a distance.
The work began inside an existing New Zealand business and was established as its own company so that the product, the brand and the responsibility for supporting customers sit in one place, under one name.
What we are doing now
Our first product, Forma, is in active development. It is being tested privately with a small group of production partners ahead of a public release, and is not yet generally available.
Alongside the build, the company is doing the ordinary work of getting a product ready to sell responsibly: security review, independent testing, privacy and terms, billing, and the compliance that comes with distributing software internationally. We would rather take that seriously before launch than apologise for it afterwards.
We are also talking to studios, programmes and production teams across dance, cheer, marching bands and theatre — in New Zealand and overseas — about how they plan work today. Those conversations directly change what gets built.
How we work
Small and direct
A short line between the people using the product and the people building it. Enquiries reach someone who can act on them rather than a queue.
Honest about stage
We say what is built, what is being built and what is not. We would rather describe the product accurately than oversell what it does today.
Careful with people's work
Choreography and production material is authorship, and often involves young performers. We treat both the work and the people in it with the care that deserves.
Built to last
Performance teams plan seasons ahead. The tools they rely on should be maintained and supported over years, not shipped and abandoned.
People
Forma Studio 360 was founded by Wyllis Maihi, who leads the company from Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland. The company has a board of directors registered with the New Zealand Companies Office, and works with external specialists for legal, accounting, security and independent testing.
